Enjoy this special excerpt from Maureen’s book, on harmony and peacemaking.
“Happiness is when what you think, what you say and what you do are in harmony.” ~ Mahatma Gandhi
The feminine prefers to avoid conflict, since it compromises our ability to stay connected. We enjoy collaboration and joint participation in decision making . We tend to formulate requests as proposals rather than orders so as to avoid provoking confrontation. The world now needs, more than ever before, the economic stability, safety, and harmony that comes with the feminine’s natural contribution to harmony and peacemaking. We have a personal responsibility in the area of harmony and peacemaking as the level of unrest and disharmony that we personally carry in our soul and our being directly relates to our ability to bring peace into the world.

Why harmony and peacemaking are needed in the world now.

The world holds enough unnecessary conflict today. Compromise and compassion lead to connection and peace. When we learn to think before we take action or react, we create a more thoughtful, meaningful response than otherwise. When we begin to consider issues without competition and status, we allow the space to explore fully, communicate, and develop the true outcome or best direction in which to proceed. When we encourage people to be involved and participate in discussions and decisions, we build increased agreement. Sometimes there can be a creative tension when we work to achieve what we want, for we value maintaining a given relationship. But those who have a developed sense of how to keep harmony and peace learn the skills to respect their own needs while they honor the needs of others.

Maureen’s excerpts are very beautifully stated and so resonate with me. I believe that happiness is our divine nature, and all we need to do is to get out of the way and allow that happiness to fully and completely express. Imagine how the conditions of the world would change if we all consciously shift our happiness set point through voluntary actions.

    You said it, Leigh.

We simply need to get out of our own way and let happiness express itself.

Same goes for the unrest in our soul, as Maureen says. Let it go and let our natural inclination towards harmony create a better world. Maureen has wisdom for us – more on her blog (Women Influencing Now) link above.

    Thanks for visiting Leigh!

This is one of my favorite pictures of Maureen. The light radiating through the scene is inviting and calming. Thank you Leigh H. for wrapping up the book tour. The whole tour is available on Maureen's blog. Leigh E. "Imagine how the conditions of the world would change if we all consciously shift our happiness set point through voluntary actions."
